Abondance: The village has a bakery, a butcher, a small grocery store, banks and a post office. There is a farmers market here every Sunday morning. The monastery with its cloister are worth a visit. A Super U (Vinzier) and an Intermarché (close to Chapelle d´Abondance) are 15 min by car.
The mountain region of the Chablais boasts an incredible variety of hiking possibilities. From the leisurely stroll along the river Dranse to ambitious mountaineering everything is possible here. Mountain bikers have an equally large number of opportunities.
Lake Geneva with its picturesque shores, swimming spots and shoreline villages, is just 30 min by car. Don´t miss the public beach (plage municipal) at Amphion-Publier. A little further away the medieval villages of Yvoire and the much less popular but no less pretty Nernier are worth a visit.
One of the largest and most diverse skiing regions of Switzerland is just minutes away by car: Portes du Soleil. Abondance also boasts a small skiing area. The area is also great for snowshoeing and back country skiing.
